Played one playtest game early in the rules development.
Played OK.
Like Might and Reason and Grande Army, it's a bit like Chinese food.
Satisfying at the time, but left wanting.
This is probably due to the nominal scales. Battalion/Division attacks.
The actual copy will not be available from Eureka until next week.
I can give more information then.

Thanks for the heads-up. That actually looks like the scale of Naps game that interests me - I like to be able to represent individual battalions...

Thanks Michael I have ordered the rules myself. I d like to know your view on the tourny system in the rules. Do you think it will appeal to the masses?

| Yeah would be interested in giving the rules a go. Also interested to see how the army builder/tournament system plays like. |

I'd be interested to give the rules a go. Borrowed a copy yesterday, so will at least have read them in theory. Are people thinking of some games at next week's meeting, the 18th??

as a quick question, people who are playing lasalle in 28mm, how are you basing your armies? I am thinking 6 men to a base as it says in the book however the listed 2" by 2" seems quite packed, I was thinking 2" deep and 3" wide, is that about how everyone else is doing it?
Thanks

The way the rules are written, as long as you are consistent between base widths it shouldn't make a difference.
Personally I would go with 6 figs on a 2" x 1" for foot and 2 cavalry on a 2" x 2" sized base. Purely because the cavalry will not fit on a thinner base in the case of most 28mm figures.
I would experiment with what looks good and work around that rather than be fixed on any particular basing regime.
I just finished rebasing all my 15mm Nap cavalry from NB style to Lasalle/Age of Eagles style. Boy that was a lot of work.
Michael
Sticking with 15mm. |
